Creation NDT 2017 / Adrift

2017 - Franck Chartier & Nederlands Dans Theater

After The missing door (2013), directed by Gabriela Carrizo, and The lost room (2015) by Franck Chartier, Peeping Tom and Nederlands Dans Theater collaborate a third time to create a new production with the dancers of NDT I.

Directed by Franck Chartier, this new short creation will address some of the themes that were already present in the previous two productions: the memory, the boundaries between reality and one’s own thoughts and the disruption of time. If memories represent the past and premonitions represent the future, what happens if the future can influence the memory?

The new creation will premiere on October 5, 2017 in the Zuiderstrandtheater in The Hague (NL). The trilogy of The missing door, The lost room and the new creation will be presented in a program entitled Adrift. The world première will be followed by a tour throughout The Netherlands.

In 2016, The lost room won a ‘Swan most impressive dance production of 2016’. The Netherlands’ most prestigious dance award, the Zwanen (Swans), are awarded each year in October during the Festival of the Dutch Dance in Maastricht. The missing door will also perform at the Edinburgh International Festival, on 21, 22 and 23 August 2017.
